FC Barcelona to Host First Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga two and a half years following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans are permitted inside based on approved permits. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch in early November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
