Devoted fans of Ariana Grande are calling for that a person who breached a fence and touched the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good premiere be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.

A viral video shows the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing camera operators and lunging at Grande while the cast walked down a yellow carpet surrounded by onlookers.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the gathering by event staff.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being detained", though court documents revealed that he was scheduled to be present on Friday morning. It is not clear if he was formally accused.

Record of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram feed features recordings of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including jumping on stage at the pop singer's Sydney show in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last winter.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is obviously a criminal offence," commented an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" another Instagram user remarked.

Supporters Voice Worry Over the Star's Safety

Several supporters blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from PTSD after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote a further response on Instagram.

Some attendees also faulted security officers at the premiere for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals demanded digital services to ban Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In videos shared widely, Grande looked shocked when she was approached by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.

Grande has remained silent on the event, and the remaining proceedings proceeded as normal.

Many of Singapore supporters had waited to greet the cast of Wicked

Hundreds of supporters had assembled in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had waited for as long as many hours before it started.

The movie, to be premiered on 21 November, is the sequel of a two-part interpretation of the popular stage musical Wicked, which revolves around the surprising relationship between two contrasting characters.

The show itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the good witch Glinda, was adorned in a rosé sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the Elphaba, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and earned ten Oscar nominations, securing two for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
