Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any destruction is uncertain and the American officials has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.
It said debris landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
