Lawmakers Disclose Latest Batch of Jeffrey Epstein Photos as Department of Justice Time Limit Nears

The House Oversight Committee has released a batch of approximately 70 photos from the estate of deceased convicted individual convicted of sex crimes Jeffrey Epstein.
This represents the third such disclosure from a tranche of in excess of 95,000 photographs the body has secured from Epstein's property. It contains images of quotes from the book Lolita written across a woman's body, and censored photos of female international passports.
This release comes just hours before the December 19th due date for the DOJ to disclose every documents associated with its inquiry into Epstein.
"These new images raise more queries about exactly what the Department of Justice has in its custody," stated the senior Democrat of the committee, Robert Garcia.
Contents in the Photos Disclosed
Some of the photos released on recently feature Epstein in discussion with scholar and advocate Noam Chomsky aboard a private jet; Bill Gates standing beside a female whose face is censored; Steve Bannon positioned at a table facing Epstein, and previous Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner gathering.
Investigative Body
These are the latest high-net-worth, powerful individuals to be photographed in Epstein's estate photos released by the House Oversight Committee - formerly published photos also show US President Donald Trump and former president Bill Clinton, as well as film director Woody Allen, former US treasury secretary Larry Summers, counsel Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and other figures.
Being pictured in the images is is not considered indication of any wrongdoing, and several of the pictured figures have stated they were in no way implicated in Epstein's unlawful actions.
In a press release released with the image release, Lawmakers on the US House Oversight Committee said the Epstein estate's representatives did not offer background information or dates for the images.
"Images were chosen to offer the public with openness into a illustrative selection of the images obtained from the property, and to give perspectives into Epstein's circle and his exceptionally disturbing behavior," the statement says.
Investigative Body
The disclosure also contains several images of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov novel Lolita penned in black ink across different parts of a female's body, such as her chest, lower extremity, pelvis, and back. Lolita tells the story of a young girl who was groomed by a middle-aged literature professor.
A particular quote from the work written across a woman's upper body says, "Lolita: the point of the tongue making a journey of three steps down the roof of the mouth to tap, at three, on the teeth".
There are also a number of photos of women's passports and ID papers from nations globally, like Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.
Committee
The majority of the data on the documents, such as identities and dates of birth, is redacted but the panel stated in a announcement that the travel documents pertain to "females whom Jeffrey Epstein and his conspirators were involved with".
Another photo shows Epstein positioned at a desk in close proximity surrounded by three individuals whose identities have been censored - one individual has her hand on Epstein's torso under his shirt, and a second is leaning to view a adjacent computer. Epstein appears to be aiding the third fasten a wristband.
Committee
An additional photo disclosed is a image of text messages from an unnamed person who states they have been provided "a number of girls" and are requesting "$$1,000 per girl".
Image Release Comes Ahead of DOJ Cut-off
The committee has thousands of photographs in its holdings from the Epstein estate, which are "at once graphic and ordinary," its announcement on recently clarified.
The oversight panel first subpoenaed the holdings of Epstein, who passed away in a New York prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on accusations of human trafficking, in August.
The photographs and documents the Epstein property submitted to the body are separate from what is often termed "Epstein-related records". That material are records in the justice department's control related to its separate probe into Epstein.
In accordance with the Transparency Act, which the President signed into law last month, the DOJ has until the date of 19 December to release its documents. The extent of the contents included in the DOJ's records is unknown, and it's probable that much of the material will be heavily censored, similar to Congressional documents
