Plane Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A jet transporting the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the plane's windshield, per an official statement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.
"The jet landed following standard protocol and everyone onboard, such as Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer said in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the city of Brussels at the time.
This occurrence does not mark the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet carrying a high-ranking official has suffered mechanical issues.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to turn back to Washington DC after experiencing a mechanical problem.
