In a dominant display, the English national team wrapped up another win against their opponents, with several players delivering notable performances throughout the game.

Starting Eleven

Dean Henderson Had little to do to perform before the break before called into action by Arbër Hoxha’s curling effort. A sliding challenge against Qazim Laci showed his game intelligence. 6/10

The debutant Tested by Albania’s main danger in their forward. Started in a central role initially then shifted wider after Saka entered the fray. 7/10

John Stones Pushed forward on the ball, as he has done previously. On occasion seemed hesitant on the ball with the experiment abandoned by the interval. Six

Dan Burn A nuisance from dead balls, per usual, but may be another option for Stones in the backline as opposed to his partner. A careless ball later in the match almost led to a goal for the visitors. 6

The young full-back One more composed display by the 20-year-old following his debut against another side. A teammate did not capitalize on the opportunity from an exquisite touch behind the Albania defence. His position looks secure at this stage. Seven

The newcomer A debut start in an England shirt. A bit sloppy on the ball but his dangerous set-pieces caused problems. A useful game manager for the coach to have versus teams who drop deep. Cautioned for a rash foul. 6

The midfielder Deliveries from dead balls and set-plays were dangerous. Was given freedom to drift down the left flank but was in an offside position when the ball arrived in shooting positions. Granted a deserved break on the hour mark. 6/10

The star midfielder Operated in an advanced spot out wide and also put in dirty work. Displayed moments of class but mishit an effort over. Substituted late on by a teammate, his competition, after being booked. Seven

The winger Had England’s best chance of the first half, his shot smartly stopped from the Albanian keeper. As a teammate holding position, he was forced to provide width on the right but his crosses from wide areas varied in quality. Substituted with 15 to go. Six

Harry Kane The match-winner netting seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth goals for his country. The opener a typical poacher’s finish and the second a superb headed goal after peeling away from his marker. At 32, he continues to improve with the national team stand a real opportunity in future competitions with him leading the line. 8

The attacker Had difficulty to make an impact out wide. Had a presentable chance following a pass by the midfielder however Strakosha kept it out. His replacement had a greater an impact when substituted. Five
