Salah Issues Statement to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the team in the wake of the controversy from his public comments.

What Happened

He was omitted from a vital match after making accusations and claiming his relationship with manager had deteriorated.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”

The manager has refused to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.

Team Unity

Jones insisted that the team's response remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” the midfielder explained.

The midfielder also implied that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”

On-Field Response

Their results have been impressive in the period after the initial controversy. Jones believes the Salah's words were not designed to harm the team.

“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a desire to win,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, getting results and securing victories.”
