Your Perfect Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution According to the Zodiac Sign

This return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread enthusiasm within the community. From the one-by-one unveiling of newcomers before the title's launch, to players forming firm views on the entire lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for fans to anticipate.

Given many of the Super Forms showcasing distinctive appearances that emphasize their traits, one idea came to mind: How can connect this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a blend of vibes, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.

Aries – Mega Camerupt

To be truthful, Houndoom was almost chosen for Aries, as both are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that inspire the most fear. But, a Super Houndoom comes across as constantly furious, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, known for being fun, cheerful, and spontaneous. This makes Aries much more similar to Super Camerupt, which only spews lava when angered. Stay on the good side of both and enjoy a powerful partner; should you offend them, be ready to face the consequences.

The Bull – Mega Heracross

Much like a devoted Bull, the steadfast Heracross species, both in its regular and Super Form, has aided many players in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, both the Pokémon and a Taurus are still Fighting types, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will defend their side unwaveringly. What about Mega Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unashamed love of treats. Many past official descriptions mention their craving for sweet sap and how it employs its appendage to collect it everything, which is true Taurus energy.

The Twins – Super Medicham

Observe this absolute queen. It's impossible to tell me this creature is not the life of every party, providing an constant fountain of gossip to those who wants to hear. Much like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's very simple to envision Super Medicham mesmerizing an whole Wild Zone with their tales. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also states its ability to predict an opponent's future actions, which sounds quite like a people-smart Gemini.

The Crab – Super Manectric

Cancer is commonly considered as the most emotional member of the astrological wheel, a passionate sign famous for frequently getting absorbed in their emotions. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “huge quantity of energy, but it's excessive for Manectric to fully manage,” which seems a lot like a typical Crab crash-out. This Pokémon is also known for its capability to make a thundercloud over its own head – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is going to do, it’s rain on their own parade.

The Lion – Super Starmie

Oh, did you think I was going to select Pyroar for the king of the stars? Besides the reality that it would be far too obvious, The Lion is clearly Mega Starmie, the diva whose gams just went viral for being too glamorous (or terrifying, depending on your preference). Players were captivated from the violet sea star, and that’s precisely the same energy a Lion offers to the scene. This Pokémon is also rumored to be transmitting signals from its red core out into space, and it’s typical of a Lion to be staging a show, even if for aliens.

The Maiden – Super Victreebel

The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Maiden is ideally encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being charmingly judgmental is clearly mirrored across this Pokémon’s entire evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked expression like a Virgo when you tell them you don’t have a 401(k), to its inverted face that’s similar to the symbol a Maiden sends to the group chat when all says they want to “go with the flow” instead of creating a plan.

Libra – Super Audino

Observe this gentle, empathetic being, who employs the feelers on its ears to tell how people are feeling by their pulse. Always compassionate – occasionally to a fault – and striving to maintain the harmony, there are many Scales who would probably benefit from Super Audino's abilities. Though, let’s be honest, it would probably just cause them to stress more about everyone else.

The Scorpion – Mega Banette

Banette is a creature with a unexpectedly tragic origin: Discarded as a toy, it gained consciousness through sheer resentment and vowed revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the official info, Mega Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That sounds exactly like several discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpio friends. A Scorpion adores karma and retribution, making them the ideal pair with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha

Both Super Hawlucha and Archers are constantly putting on a performance. As a Sagittarius personally, the amount of occasions I’ve called myself some variation of a “playful small jester” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “flexes to show off its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius match I can think of.

Capricorn – Super Absol

Did you know that a Mega Absol has the power to predict calamities in advance? That gives the exact same vibe as a Goat, who tends to consistently believe they’re right. The thing is, similar to a prophetic Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute initial Super Form that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to get in on the ground floor of the Mega trend.

Aquarius – Super Chandelure

Detached element Aquarius is arguably the non-fire sign that is most like a fire sign – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are countless jokes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being unpredictable partners in crime. Mega Chandelure’s double Spirit/Flame category fits perfectly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating presence is also extremely Aquarius. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “draws in negative energy and converts it into power.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
